Position Summary:

The role will include field measuring and fabricating ductwork, transitions, fittings, supports, hangers, and accessories while coordinating installation with HVAC equipment, piping, electrical, controls, ceilings, walls, and other trades. Work must be performed safely and in accordance with project specifications, approved drawings, manufacturer requirements, and applicable codes.

This position is contingent upon contract award, final scope, and project requirements. 

Duties and Responsibility:

• Remove existing duct sections, fittings, and connections as required for HVAC replacement.
• Field-measure, fabricate, modify, and install sheet-metal ductwork, transitions, connections, and accessories.
• Install supports, hangers, access components, and related duct accessories within the assigned workshare.
• Seal duct joints and connections in accordance with approved project requirements.
• Coordinate duct routing and installation with HVAC equipment, refrigerant piping, electrical systems, controls, ceilings, walls, and other trades.
• Support restoration of rated penetrations and coordination required firestopping.
• Maintain infection-control containment, dust control, and housekeeping during demolition and installation

Required Qualifications:

• Commercial sheet-metal and HVAC duct installation experience.
• OSHA 10 Construction certification.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, field dimensions, duct layouts, and equipment connection requirements.
• Ability to safely use sheet-metal fabrication and installation tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Occupied-facility renovation experience.
• Experience with commercial AHU replacement and field-fabricated transitions.
• Federal/VA construction experience.

Work Environment Requirements:

• The solicitation includes existing ductwork in the HVAC replacement scope.
• All fire and smoke wall penetrations must be properly sleeved and sealed with VA-approved fire barrier compound.
• All onsite construction workers require OSHA 10 certification.
