Some technical requirements for this position are: Requires sitting for long periods of time, working at a computer terminal. Some bending and stretching required. Ability to lift papers or boxes up to 30 pounds occasionally. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination required for use of calculators, phones, computer keyboards and other equipment. Requires ability to sustain concentration in a noisy and fast-paced environment. May be exposed to communicable diseases and bodily fluids. Day to Day: Interview applicants to obtain eligibility information, with sensitivity toward clients’ needs. Conduct a client interview that includes a medical history, anthropometric measurements, 24-hour recall, and hematocrit. Maintain confidentiality of clients and staff. Correctly interpret eligibility information and document this information in a computer file. Provide nutrition and health education to clients; educate clients about WIC rules and regulations. Refer clients as needed to other community resources. Issue benefits and schedule clients. Participate in quality assurance standards through peer review.
