As a Nursing Faculty member, you will play a vital role in shaping future healthcare professionals through high-quality teaching in the classroom, clinical, lab, and simulation environments, including flexible evening and weekend instruction.

What You'll Do

Deliver Exceptional Nursing Education

• Teach assigned nursing courses across classroom, clinical, laboratory, and simulation settings.
• Create engaging, student-centered learning experiences using innovative teaching strategies, technology, and evidence-based practices.
• Implement course curriculum and contribute feedback to support continuous course improvement.
• Bridge theory and practice to prepare students for safe, ethical, and professional nursing practice.

Support Student Success

• Build meaningful relationships with students and foster an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
• Evaluate student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Identify learning needs and develop remediation strategies that help students achieve academic success.
• Serve as a mentor and professional role model throughout the student journey.

Lead Clinical Excellence

• Facilitate clinical, laboratory, and simulation learning experiences.
• Collaborate with fellow faculty to ensure students develop the knowledge, critical thinking, and clinical competencies needed for practice readiness.
• Promote patient safety, evidence-based care, and professional standards in all learning environments.

Contribute to the Academic Community

• Participate in university committees, program evaluation activities, accreditation efforts, commencement ceremonies, and other professional service initiatives.
• Support the onboarding, development, and mentoring of new faculty members.
• Collaborate with colleagues and academic leaders to strengthen program outcomes and student experiences.

Advance Scholarship & Professional Growth

• Engage in scholarly and professional activities that advance nursing education and practice.
• Research, apply, and share emerging knowledge and best practices.
• Maintain clinical expertise, subject matter knowledge, and teaching effectiveness through ongoing professional development.

Ensure Academic & Regulatory Excellence

• Follow and enforce university policies related to attendance, grading, assessments, and student conduct.
• Maintain compliance with accreditation, licensure, regulatory, and institutional standards.
• Utilize technology, data, and AI-enabled tools to enhance teaching effectiveness and student outcomes.

Qualifications

Education

• Master's Degree in Nursing  required

Nursing & Clinical Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of professional nursing experience related to the teaching discipline required
• Demonstrated clinical nursing expertise and experience in the specialty area(s) being taught
• Experientially prepared to teach assigned nursing courses
• Maintain current regulatory and clinical practice credentials, when appropriate, based on assignment
• Maintain appropriate, active, unencumbered nursing licensure or certification as required to practice and teach within the discipline required
• Ability to integrate clinical expertise, evidence-based practice, and real-world healthcare experiences into the learning environment

• Excellent communication skills, sound judgment, and a high level of initiative
• Ability to create engaging learning environments and effectively manage conflict
• Emotional and social intelligence to recognize student needs, respond with empathy, and foster a supportive, inclusive learning environment

• Technological expertise with learning management systems, simulation equipment, and online learning platforms

• Faculty at the Instructor rank are required to demonstrate at least one example of professional development and scholarship within one of the following areas:

• Education and experience must align with applicable state regulations.
• Faculty teaching in clinical settings must meet all additional requirements outlined in the Faculty Compliance Packet.

Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $77,000 and $97,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
